If you have a Condenser Tumble Dryer how often does it need emptying?

My vented dryer is on it's last legs
Condenser dryers seem to have better energy ratings but are they a faff to empty?

No, every other load. You just slip the tank out, and tip it down the sink, or onto a flower bed or whatever. No problems at all.

With ours you just pull the drawer out the front (similar to wear you would put powder in a washing machine) and tip away. I do it usually before each use, and it's amazing how much water is in there. I use it to water my plants Grin.

Ours is 100% better than previous old vented dryer (which was donkeys years old tbf).

Same as the other two - no faff at all. But saying that our dryer was next to the sink so didn't have to cart it off anywhere

Ohfuckohfuckofuck · 07/10/2013 15:17

No faff and we have ours in a very awkward place under stepladder to loft in tiny cupboard. Would never buy a vented one again.

MegaClutterSlut · 07/10/2013 15:17

I empty mine after each use, no faff at all

Debs75 · 07/10/2013 15:37

I empty mine every week, so every 4-5 loads. I never thought or using it to water the plants before.

JadziaSnax · 07/10/2013 15:40

Every 2-3 loads, the water tank is on the front, in a similar place to the powder drawer on a washer. It's a doddle to empty it.

CakeExpectations · 07/10/2013 15:45

I use the water from mine for ironing. I used to get though quite a lot of Comfort Vaporesse, so it's saving me a small fortune.

fiorentina · 07/10/2013 16:44

I empty every use but I only really use for bedding and towels so they are very damp.

Every third load for us which is no hassle. And ours is in the study so not near a sink at all.

Graze8 · 07/10/2013 22:59

I use the water from the condenser dryer for my steam iron. It's distilled so stops lime scale build up.

Thanks everyone

I have a condenser washer dryer. There appears to be no drawer I can only assume it goes out the waste water pipe?!!
