DH's wardrobe smells...

of a manly smell (i.e. not very nice). Hmm

He does wear some things then hangs them back up but he is pretty clean.

What can I/we do to get rid of the smell?

Does he keep his shoes in there?

If so I would stop that.I would also leave the doors open every day for a while to air.

All sympathy to you. My dh wardrobe smells but he says it doesn't! I open wardrobe doors - seems to work.

It's a pretty bad idea to put away dirty clothes, even if only worn once and almost clean. There will be a bit of sweat on them, which really encourages moths, and probably a bit of moisture, which is going to make a great breeding ground for bacteria and fungus. I have no problem with rewearing clothes, but it'd be better to hang them on the back of a door, where they can air properly.

Agreed on not putting away worn clothes. DH will sometimes wear a shirt twice, but after first wear he will put it on a hanger and hang on the wardrobe rather than in it. Otherwise if it's even vaguely musty it goes in the laundry basket.

We do a simple 'pit sniff' test. It might look clean, smell ok, but if the armpits smell (even if it's of deodorant), then it goes in the wash.
