Forgot that you are the sewage supremo!

If it is just loo paper, what I do (and yes, this does happen with boring regularity in our house too!) is get a wire hanger, bend it to make it as long as possible and use the hook end to hook out the paper. Paper and hanger go straight into a plastic bag and get thrown in the outside bin. Hey presto, blockage cleared and no need even for the rubber gloves.

Oh I see my idea has been mantioned already and pooh poohed. I shall retire gracefully.
