Blue plasticine on stone-coloured chinos...where do I even start?

DH had trodden on an abandoned Thomas model skillfully made by DS this weekend. It has flattened into the fabric all around the hem. I'm usually pretty good with getting all sorts of stains out but I don't even know where to start with this particular challenge.

If anyone has any pearls of wisdom then please feel free to share!

Try freezing them then it might scrape off better? This is supposed to work with chewing gum...

Hi Frazzled. Thanks for freezing suggestion. I had heard that before so have put the accompanying socks in the freezer but alas no room for the trousers amongst the lasagne and ice cream! Have been frantically googling and am in the middle of Vanish/soak/fairy liquid solution - fingers crossed that chemical concoction will help to get rid of the offending splodge!
