I try to keep my house well ventilated but as we have a pet, I think the house needs a bit of extra help. Are diffusers any good and do they keep their smell?

This one in fact

(Although ours was bought on holiday much cheaper than eBay!)

Buy the pure bakhoor oud chips and charcoal discs and your house will smell gorgeous all day long.

Well Mildred steer clear of my house please since reading this thread last week my house smells delicious. It was already neutral now thanks to comfort, zoflora and method it smells homely, but subtle.

Yes some people spray/but stuff you don't like. Some people do lots of things in their own home hat people they don't know 'super well' might like. Funny that.

All the people who open the windows every day to air the place, how do you manage that in winter if you work fulltime and have two small children to keep warm in the mornings and evenings? I love having my windows open but it feels like there's just no opportunity most days in winter.

My house is south facing so I can open the windows a lot in winter

Imogen them first thing in the morning and close then before work. On weekends they're open if we are in. I don't mind the cold. In fact I love the fresh air far more than central heating.

TapTapBangBang · 04/10/2013 18:38

Imogen? I open!

Daylesford garden tomato vine candles. Fine inside. Last ages. Gorgeous gorgeous smell.

Anyone using anything that goes beyond opening a window, some flowers or essential oils needs to think what these products are actually doing to your body. youretoastmildred, although people seem to have responded negatively to your strength of feeling, I think you may have a point. theorganicsinstitute.com/the-shocking-truth-about-air-fresheners/

Wax tart burners are the best thing by far. I too hate plug in air fresheners. I prefer wax tarts to oil burners too.
