Do i need a steam cleaner? are they better than good old fashioned elbow grease?
Handheld or upright?
What makes are the best?

we have moved into a house that is a bit neglected (politely speaking- manky honestly) Theres a conservatory with black mould along the seals, the floors in the bathroom are ceramic tiled with dirty grout - we are getting them karndeaned and the same in the kitchen. the rest of thew house will be newly carpetted. The kitchen is mucky and greasy - we're getting a new one soon :)

Will a steam cleaner clean all this muck off???
if so, which one? Handheld or a mop ??

One thing to consider is the area you have moved to a hard water area? Steam mops and hard water = explosion and boiling water v dangerous. This is from experience. And it was the first time I used the steam mop new.

Stick with good old fairy liquid hot water and sugar soap for stubborn grease in kitchen.
