Help me! Poo stained carpet!

Potty training accident. DS2 had all day in which he could have pooed all over the wooden floor downstairs, but he chose to do in the thirty seconds or so it takes to get up the (carpeted) stairs and landing to the bathroom.

TMI but it was really squishy and impossible to get up cleanly. I've tried treating it with Troubleshooter 101 but this morning I just have a huge stain.

Any ideas? It's a wool, flat-ish pile carpet so am a bit worried about colour-fastness. TIA.

Eek. Sorry nothing helpful to add except some sympathy. I have been potty-training recently and so glad we don't have carpets. Brrr.

Febreze if it smells? Grin

Oops. Blush

Ok, I think you have to consider that a colour run might be the lesser evil! I'd start with plenty of cold water and see how that goes. Next stop would be hand-hot water with a dose of biological laundry detergent: apply liberally, leave to soak for an hour or something, then repeatedly pat dry and rinse with clean hot water to replicate washing.

Good luck with it... I guess we've all been there.

Have you tried baby wipes?

happyyonisleepyyoni · 20/09/2013 14:14

Ps not a joke about the baby wipes , just realises that could have come across the wrong way!
Seriously they are very good at getting up carpet stains. Dont soak the carpet or use lots of detergent, its difficult to get out.If all else fails, a professional steam clean will get up anything.

One of those vanish shaker bags?we have used a couple in our house and the carpets always come up looking like they have been professionally cleaned Smile
