I am sick of candles that don't smell so I thought I could make my own. Am I right in thinking its as simple as, buying the wicks sticking them to the bottom of a jar/ tea cup. Melting wax ( paraffin or soy) adding 10% oils and pouring into holder.

I am thinking that there must be more to it.

Is there a type of oil I need

You can get candlemaking kits in craft shops, they will provide you with some basics & give you ideas, too. You may even find one in a charity shop.

Alternatively, try this candle making

Also, if you fancy a different colour, use stubs of wax crayons Smile
