Please tell me I'm not the only freak!

I'm going on holiday this Saturday for a fortnight leaving ds1 (18) at home himself!

Every time I go on holiday I get my self into a state that the house must be spotless and beds changed before I go! Don't know why I'm bothering because I'm sure infact I'm positive it won't be in the same way I leave it

Does any you ladies do the same??

Nope I think loads of people do this. It's lively coming back to a clean home!

I have to do it before I go, although if I had an 18 year olf at home, I wouldn't bother and just give a list instead

Oh I see you're leaving your 18 year old. Well maybe if you clean before hand it'll give him incentive to keep it clean for you?

I always want to clean and tidy before we go on holidays but usually run out of time. Coming from a clean tidy - almost minimalist - holiday cottage to our usual chaotic home is depressing.

I could leave him a list but would be a waste of time leaving it as it wouldn't get done lol!

I do this too! It does make going on holiday a lot more stressful, but so nice to step back in the door to a clean house.....before you start work on the holiday-laundry mountain.

I think it's hardly unusual

Whilst I am a woman, not a lady... I have to leave the house immaculate before we go away.

DM used to do this and I used to think she was bonkers. Now I do it too.

A friend of mine used to usher the family out first then mop the kitchen floor, lock up and go on hols.

Terra I done that one year we went away lol!
