So we are having our attic room/ loft conversion decorated, the carpet is 8 years old. It was cream once, but has plenty of stains now! I went to carpet right to price up a new carpet. £9.99 per square metre. Our room is long ( 11 metres or 36 feet) but narrow ( 10 foot at widest point) by the time fitting, lifting, delivery, removal, underlay and grippers were added the cost was £830. For a boring mushroom coloured bedroom carpet. This is so expensive! We have 6 bedrooms to do, this is just one of them! Any ideas if you can buy carpet cheaper elsewhere?
