Owners of condenser dryers

Thought mine was just a bit rubbish and haven't used it for the last two years. Would put a load of towels in and three hours later they'd still be damp. Anyway, it turns out that the condenser needed cleaned out Blush. So, this morning, full load dry in an hour. I'm sure no one else is as thick as me but thought I'd post this just in case.

I've done the same. Took me six months to figure it out just when I was about to throw the head up and buy another one.

I struggle to clean mine out, I'm sure there must be an easier way of doing it.

EsTutMirLeid · 13/09/2013 13:31

It's the same with hoovers. My mum goes through them like nobodies business and all they need is a good clean. Condensers IME need cleaning every 1-2 weeks to keep working well.

Considering getting one... How do you clean them out? Is the lint filter in the front door? I know that the water needs emptying out, but what else?

yep, I did that for a year before reading the instructions! also putting the washing machine on a higher spin speed when cuts down drying time afterwards. I do that unless I'm line drying.

Pickle131 · 13/09/2013 23:26

Propitia, there's the lint trap in the front door and the water reservoir at the top. You empty these each cycle. Then there's another drawer at the bottom that you pull out every now and again and give a good rinse through. No matter how clean it looks, fluff will be washed out!

I take my filtery thing up to the shower and shoot water through it.

Sleepyfergus · 14/09/2013 10:05

Ooh, added to my list of things to do today. Who knew! never read instructions fully

Methe · 14/09/2013 10:06

I put mine in the shower to clean it and hose all the crap out with the power shower.
