My kitchen bin has got really smelly, I've washed it with bleach flash and dettol, it stays smell free for a couple of days then smells again! What else could I try??

If you don't use bin liners that is your problem. If you do maybe you are leaving them in too long before disposing of them. I have relegated my bin to the garden as a mobile clippings bin and use a carrier bag on a hook by the kitchen door for non-recyclable rubbish, as does my daughter. Works well and means one less chore.

Yeah I use bin liners and empty it every 2-3 days as were a family of 5 so fills really quickly may have to resort to emptying every day!

We've gone for one of the tiny ikea bins that are meant to be inside cabinets because so much of our rubbish is recycled the small amount of landfill stuff will smell! Big bin is now relegated. It's a new system for us but seems to be working. We ha so many recycling boxes I ended up sacrificing a cupboard to hide them all in.
