How do you get these two stains out?

Hi all, how do I get out -

1. tomato stains on a sky blue tshirt

2. sweat marks and smells from any tshirt

Have tried vanish and oxyclean - soaking and rubbing and they're still there!

Have you tried the appropriate Stain Devil on the tomato stain?

tomato try drying in direct sunlight

look at the vinegar thread in the environment section for sweat stains.

I usually find that the "oxi-" type stain removers work much better if you hang them out in the sun as LIZS says.

Keep them wet, don?t let them dry out or will make them worse.
Have you tried vinegar on the sweat marks? I find a little normal white vinegar rubbed in and left on for a while followed by a decent temp wash and in wash booster such as canish shifts them nicely.
Are you sure it is sweat and not deodorant stains?
Tomato is very tough and depends how much you are willing to risk it! If vanish has failed, worth trying a bowl of warm water with a good slosh of bleach. Mix in the bleach thoroughly first so doesn?t come into contact neat. Start weak at first and then add more bleach if getting nowhere. Worth leaving overnight in bucket with good slosh of bleach. I find it removes tomato easily enough, just can effect the colour depending on the dye in the T shirt.

great! thanks for the suggestions. Just looked at the vinegar thread. Will give that a go too.

I think it's a mixture of sweat (yellow) and deodorant (white) marks on the tshirt. Must admit I've had it a long time, but just can't bear to part with it yet!

Is bleach safe to put on a coloured tshirt? I thought that was a no-no, but then again I don't know alot about cleaning!

Will definitely try the sun too.
