Is it true that keeping bananas in your fruit bowl makes everything go off quicker? If so, where do you keep your bananas???

it is true. use a banana hook. our suspends the bananas above the other fruit so the gas they give off that causes the over ripening doesn't affect the fruit in the bowl below.

am on phone so can't do you a link but . look on lakeland website.

It's true.
I keep my separately - but just in another bowl. No need for a hook if you don't want one.

Weird - you learn something new every day! Thanks all!

You can use it to your advantage-buy a mix of ripe and ready to eat and needing to ripen fruit and keep the needs to ripen with the bananas. At the point you've finished the ripe the unripe will be ready.

This is assuming that you get through as much fruit as we do, but then I do wonder if my Dh/dc are actually chimpanzees.

Yes this is true... It does mean that DH wants to keep each banana separately though... So we have eight bananas perched all round the kitchen on their own. NO no no.
