Any ideas how to remove. It's with black pen on cream tiles, so far I've tried nail polish remover and neat vodka. But no joy, any suggestions please.

w40

wd40

Is it a marker pen? If so, try going over it with one of those dry-wipe pens and then rubbing off with kitchen towel. I never believed this would work but it does - it even gets off most of a Sharpie mark!

Doktor Power Magic Eraser? It got permanent marker off my door frame.

Cif cream? Its a bit abrasive but if the tiles are reasonably sturdy they should withstand a bit of rubbing.

Thanks will try them later, it was my pen I left lying about stupidly, it's was one of those gel ink rollerball types.

I got crayon off of the new windows with wd40. Hope something works!

I use easy-do hob cleaner when all else fails.

PigletJohn · 05/09/2013 20:23

gel ink, meths may do it. Rub away from the grout, so that the ink doesn't get washed into it, as it will soak in and not clean off.

Seconding the dry wipe marker - I got permanent marker off my computer screen with that. Magic eraser is also good to have around for these sort of incidents.

Nyancat · 06/09/2013 18:11

Tried everything suggested except magic eraser(away to order one now) and its not even fading. I'm determined this wont beat me now!!

Try a stain remover, like a stain devil? Friend recommended to me and got marker pen off wooden sideboard....

RandomMess · 06/09/2013 18:25

DR Beckhams ink remover

mum23girlys · 06/09/2013 18:28

I've used baby wipes successfully on our fireplace. Worrying that it worked since I use them on dds

georgedawes · 06/09/2013 18:44

Did you leave the wd40 to soak for a bit before wiping off? Hope you find something that works!

Has anyone suggested this - heard it's good but not tried it
