urgent urgent sofa cleaning info needed

we are looking at getting a sofa from friends who used to have a dog

can you get sofas professionally cleaned? if so how much does it cost? and does it clean the whole sofa ie give the stuffing a blast too or does it just do the covers and stains?

cos dh is allergic to dogs and if I get a sofa that makes him cough I might as well pack my bags now

yes you can get them professionally cleaned but i'm not sure how much it will cost, if the sofa has removeable covers you could do it yourself (could you be cheeky and ask your friends to get it cleaned beforehand, if it were me selling/giving away a soft i would definitely clean it first) that way if your son is ok you can give the go ahead and say yes to having the sofa

actually thinking about it it does have removeable covers... just was wondering about the stuffing itself but maybe am getting a bit obsessional....
