Iron-on Label Disaster! Help, please!

Okay, so my fault for not giving better instructions. DD getting ready for reception and as I work f/t asked our cleaner, who speaks excellent English, to iron on the name labels onto the uniforms. For some reason, she ironed them on to the fronts of everything, thinking they were meant to be like a name badge, I suppose. After 5+ hours of heating them up with an iron last night I was able to peel most of them off, but there are some patches of adhesive left on a few things that i just can't budge. Any suggestions? Willing to try anything!

Thanks!
And, will now be doing the ironing-oning myself in future ;-)

I can't think of anything that would work.

Maybe give the supplier of the labels a call and ask them if they have any tips or tricks.

In the meantime if it really doesn't look good then place a new uniform order now and the uniform will be with you before you know it.

Lakeland sell sticky stuff remover, you could try that?

NoComet · 03/09/2013 11:17

Old fashioned lighter fluid DDad used to use this for all sticky ressidue

It's a really light very volitile petrol like oil. You need to do it outside then rub a bit of detergent on the treated bit and wash, but it's absolutely worth a try, before buying new.

If no time for mail order, any old fashioned tobacconist/or these days slightly dodgy hippy shop that sells old Zippo style lighters should have some.

Many thanks -- will try all of the above - have also heard that peanut butter will work but then I will have to get peanut butter off. May wind up using the lighter fluid for its stated purpose.

Appreciate the help!
