Mould in washing machine

I have black mould on the rubber door seal inside the washing machine. Any idea how to remove it? Have tried bleach but it had no effect. Thanks!

Have you tried using a green sponge-scourer on it? Put a dab of washing up liquid on the wet scourer and rub away, rinsing as you go.

Thanks Monikar, will try that.

Is it an Indesit by any chance?

Viking - machine is a Bosch. Do you have mould problem as well?

I had a mould problem, looked it up on google and it came up as a recurring pblm with Indesit. Have now got a new machine (AEG) and use it in exactly the same way; no mould at all Hmm . Nothing worked for me for the mould on the old machine.

I had this problem. it seemed to be being caused by the fabric softener. the only way I could get rid of it was to spray as much of the innards of the machine that I could reach with HG Mould Spray from Lakeland and then ditch the fabric softener and replace it with white vinegar.

so far, so good. the mould hasn't reoccurred but I do miss the lovely smell of fabric softener on my clothes.

Will try the spray, thanks. I never use conditioner and always leave the door open to air after washing so no idea why it has gone mouldy.
