Just re decorated our bedroom and bought gorgeous new White Company bedding to go on our new down and feather duvet, but it smells any ideas when it might disappear? Thanks Smile

The bedding or the duvet smells? I had to get rid of feather pillows because of the pong....

It's the actual duvet not the bedding, that's lovely! It's not a horrible smell just a weird but strong smell :/

It's the feathers. The smell really bothered me. Sorry--hope it fades for you!

Out on the washing line (minus the duvet cover) in the sunshine every day until the smell disappears.
I had a similar thing the other year with some wool duvets that I'd got for the kids - smelt like a farmyard - yuk!
Also found that placing a few sheets of Bounce in the duvet helped as well.

is it a bit 'fishy' ?

Got new bed, bedding everything for DSS2 new bedroom.

It stinks in there.

Weirdly fishy smell.

Thank you I'll get it out on the line tomorrow, and it's definitely not a fishy smell, more heavy than fish and not unpleasant, just there lingering all day!

Try Shake n Vac left on for a couple of hours, before hoovering off. If you want no scent, use bicarbonate of soda.

Our smelt of lard when new. I put a scented tumble dryer sheet in the duvet cover and hang it out a few times when it was dry.
