What can I wash with red school cardigans?

Or do I just need to do a red tights and jumpers wash and accept that I can't mix them with
any other clothes.

Would they be safe with black/dark blue stuff?

I washed all my DS's red sweatshirts with the dark wash the other day, came out fine.

You should be OK putting them in with the darks. If things are new though I tend to wash them alone for a couple of washes so the worst of the running colours come out.

Yes I did the same as Babs.

Red sweatshirts/cardigans with grey pinafores and any other dark clothes.

White polo shirts washed with white towels/socks etc.

It depends on your 'dark wash' tbh, sometimes it can make the reds look dull after a while if some of colour of the darks is still coming out. I'd just do them on a separate wash (with her tights and anything else red).

Wash them a few times by themselves, and after that with the darks.

My DC have red polo shirts and I wash them with the rest of their uniform (grey trousers and navy sweatshirts). TBH it does make the polo shirts a little bit dull over time, but it isn't bad enough to make me want to do a separate wash just for 3 polo shirts.

Go to poundland and buy some colour run sheets (can't recall name). They are brilliant and save a lot of messing around. If you use one and it comes out light, use it again and again. All round cost effective! Saves water, detergent, fabric conditioner and time.
