Top tip: don't go out leaving dh to do the washing, in fact, go out and tell him NOT to do the washing

Got back from shopping in town, then a party with dd. Dh had done the washing:

did the "pink" load first- dd is wearing a pink dress and dh knows she was planning to wear it to another party next Saturday

did a "white" load without the mostly white skirt I want to wear tomorrow

did a dark load with ONE of dd's new white socks that she was supposed to wear on Tuesday for her nursery "graduation". Sock is now grey the other went in the white load with Oxiclean, so is still sparkling

so now I have to hand wash 1 pink party dress, 1 white skirt, and attempt to whiten 1 white sock; alternatively I can run 2 separate machine loads for the dress and skirt, and buy another pair of socks tomorrow!

Oh one of my favourite subjects. Why oh why are man unable to sort washing properly? They make such a bad job that it seems as though they do it on purpose!

My worst case with DH was after a holiday in Mallorca we had to travel home separately coz DS had broken his leg. Me and DS in air ambulance and DH and DD on holiday flight. Now air ambulance had to stop overnight in germany (god knows why), which meant DH got home a whole night before me. I rang him from Germany and he spoke words that struck fear into my heart:

"Don't worry darling, I've done ALL the holiday washing".

I almost passed out.

"And which wash did you use? Whites or coloured?" Says I.

"Oh I did an EVERYTHING wash" he says proudly.

can you imagine how many clothes were unusable ever again when I got home. [sigh]

DH is normally really good with the washing but he recently decided when doing a mids load to throw in the garden throw (which is one of those ethnic bedthrows!) we now have lots of lilac coloured things!
