How to dry

My ds (4) has a terry waterproof mattress protector which cannot be tumble dried. What's the best way of drying this?

It's just come out of the wash but its quite heavy so this it'll take a good while on the washing line

Any better ideas?

I use a towel to dry off the waterproof backing and then either hang outside or on a clothes airer
