Moving from building with cockroaches

We are moving (thank god!) Some flats were treated for cockroach infestation about a year ago. They were flats in the other side of the block.
In the last few months I've had mice & about five cockroaches :( I am phobic of both. There are now insect detector boxes around the building.
How can I ensure we don't transfer anything with us? Couldn't cope with having our new home riddled with this disgusting bugs. We have a steam steriliser which dh used everywhere this morning but I've just seen one.

Also,is there anyway of ensuring we don't get them in our new home?
I am pretty house proud but sadly the owners of the neighbouring flats are not which I think has brought about all these pests. Weevils took 6 months to eradicate. I'm pretty sure they were crawling through gaps in neighbouring kitchen. Mice are almost easier than cockroaches.

Shit. I have just spent the last two hours reading about cockroaches. Just seen a massive one. I feel sick.

Infestations are really hard to beat. Can you afford a pest control company? heat treatment of all your belongings as you move out would guarantee you didn't bring any with you.

Mice are easier to beat, but you have to be prepared to catch and kill them. The best way is sticky boards or glue boards, but they are very gruesome and not very well liked as they are a touch on the cruel side.

Call a pest control company or the local authority for advice.

Good luck
