Wee soaked floor

I have 2 DS, 7 & 4.

The 4 year old in particular is forever weeing on the floor. It stinks.

We have laminate in the bathroom (which I hate) & it's all bubbled up underneath. I can't get rid of the smell.

Is there anything to be done or do we need a new floor.

If so, what type is boy piss proof?

I can't afford one at the moment so we'll have to wait until he can aim a bit straighter anyway.

Any cleaning or replacement tips much appreciated.

Is he peeing everywhere or just missing the pot?

I'd say once a floor is wee soaked to this point its beyond redemption. I'd rip it all off and get the cheapest of linos. If he just has bad aim then a few pedestal mats changed daily should help.

As above get rid of the laminate and underlay. Look for an off cut of cheap lino at local carpet shop. Good luckSmile

It sounds as though the laminate and underlay is soaked, you won't be able to clean or dry it out. I agree with the rip it out and replace with cheap lino (you will need hardboard too if it's over floorboards).

Lino offcut from a carpet shop - it'll cost about twenty quid if they charge you at all. Get one that is smooth, rather than textured if possible.

Then use a cleaner designed for pet smells (zoflora's one works really well in the low concentration they recommend on the box, or even half strength for general maintenance).
