Bed bugs

Do they come out all year round or just in hotter weather?
I'm being bitten by something, mostly under my bra strap and torso, never legs or arms or face. It only happens from late July til end of summer.

Doesn't sound like bedbugs. They go for easy to access bits. Also not seasonal.

Could it be heat rash?

Purlesque · 09/08/2013 19:22

No these are big bites.
I wake up with at least one, they are not next to each other, one will be on my shoulder and another on my hip (eg).
They start late July every year and only since living in this house.
What else could it be?

No idea! Have you checked for bedbugs to be sure? Bit I'd suspect an insect from outside

Purlesque · 09/08/2013 19:29

The fact that its underneath my bra would suggest a crawling bug.
It's really uncomfortable.
Thanks anyway.

Could it be fleas? Even if you have no pets they could be in the fabric of the house.

To check for bed bugs, take the sheet off the bed and run a car key or similar along the edge seam of the bed, that is where you will see them, preferably first thing in the morning when they are fat from drinking your blood. Confused

Bed bugs are really quite visible, much bigger than you think.

Def no fleas.
I will try that tomorrow.
Thanks

Meant to add that bedbugs bite in a line as they are lazy.

I've never had bedbugs at home, but know too much about them from working in social housing in London.

Doesn't sound like bed bugs. We've had them twice and they generally bite the face and neck because they are attracted to the carbon dioxide in your breath. Check along the seams of the mattress. The eggs look like grains of rice and the bugs are a bronze colour and a bit smaller than a ladybug. They can lay dorment for months. They love new furniture and new linen. No they are not seasonal. And if you do have them just like headlice it's not because your dirty !!!

I get multiple bites but in different parts of my body, not a line.
It's a mistery if its not bedbugs!
Thanks.
