Drain Smell in house

Hoping someone can help!

My DH is convinced he can smell pee in our house but I'm convinced it must be the drains. We have one bathroom with shower bath sink and toilet which gets a good clean once a week but wiped round every couple of days.

Anyone any tips for the best thing to put down all the plugs to help? I've soda crystals on my shopping list to do them out with vinegar and hot water but are there any other things I could try?

I can't smell anything but he's a bit like a sniffer dog!! The warm weather probably hasn't helped!

might be mice

might be a drip under or behind the WC, or where a pipe such as a shower waste is jointed to the pipe.

might be DH especially if he is an older gentleman. I don't see that soda crystals will help, as all U-bends and traps have a water seal that prevents smells coming into the house.

Unless your soil pipe is internal and instead of having an open vent at roof level, has a Durgo or similar so-called one way valve that has jammed.

Does anyone pour cooking fat down the sink?

Does DH wet-mop the bathroom floor around the loo to remove evidence of poor aim or splashiness?

I had a smell like this, would come and go - turned out to be my mop, the smell coming and going was whether or not water had been left in it. mop now lives outside in garage.

We recently had a terrible cat pee smell in kitchen. Turned out to be a basil plant. Bleugh!

Has the shower been left unused. The drain of ours used to smell if not run for a few weeks.
