Stinky fridge

When we were away on holiday our fridgefreezer turned off so we came home to a fridge full of rotten food and mould. I've tossed out everything and scrubbed it down with anti bac kitchen cleaner and let it air for a few hours but there is still a smell. How can I get rid of the smell?

Start off by washing it thoroughly with a solution of bicarb.

Thanks. Can I get that at tesco?

I would use bicarb and lemon juice with the tiniest drop of milton in it then rinse with water

You can also leave a small bowl of bicarb in there too. Have you thoroughly cleaned the drip tray where all the bits collect at the back? I like to get the cotton buds out for that!

yes, in the home baking section. Don't know whether you can get larger quantities elsewhere ... its useful stuff to keep in, good for burns and making volcanoes too.

A couple of lumps of barbecue charcoal in the fridge (after you have washed it with bicarb) should get rid of any lingering smells.

Thanks all Grin. Will tackle the stink this morning.
