Been in the house years, no change in loo cleaner but the limescale has built up in the last month or so. It looks gross, it stinks. How do I get rid of it please?

Ecover cleaned up this one during the first week we were here, just apply at night until gone then now and again as maintenance.

Harpic 100% Limescale remover works for me. Leave it overnight.

Second the Harpic suggestion - it's bloody brilliant stuff! Use quite a bit and leave overnight, give it a quick scrub and it will sparkle again.

Use loo brush to push most of water through, pour cillit bang limescale stuff round the loo - leave overnight - or as long as possible, brush and flush - all gone..

I've heard pouring a can of coke down it achieves much the same result. I'm not sure if it's true or not though.

White vinegar is also quite effective. You can buy a massive bottle cheaply in Chinese supermarkets.

the harpic in black bottles, or tablets in black carton, are good.

Also, if you put Parazone Bleach Blocks (not blue, not scented) in the cistern, they will slowly dissolve limescale out of the cister and even round the rim, as well as the pan. Try one for a month. When the foam dies away and you open the cistern lid to drop in a new one it will be noticable how the old scale has started to go.
