All dds bottles (plastic) leak after a while - ones she sucks /sports caps. Where can I buy a super robust one - maybe stainless steel?

I want to stop buying drinks out. Where can you buy the double wall steel bottles? I have seen them on fly lady in the us

£££ but works

Hamwidgeandcheps · 26/07/2013 19:11

I did have those in the back of my mind. Do they keep it cold?

camelback eddy tritan - bomb proof
there is an insulated version if you need temp control
sigg steels dont keep drinks at temp

Hamwidgeandcheps · 26/07/2013 19:18

Ooh Hels I just saw these in halfords fleetingly - for me I think the insulated on is a winner Grin thank you!
Any thoughts on kiddy ones? Dd1 likes hello kitty and such

The only ones I've ever found that don't leak are the Systema bottles.

ilovepowerhoop · 26/07/2013 21:04

sistema twister bottles work for us (are plastic though)

junemami · 26/07/2013 21:04

Love my nalgene plastic water bottle, easy to flip open but has an extra clip to close securely so no leaks. Found ss bottle lids have long threads that take ages to screw on + off.

BikeRunSki · 26/07/2013 21:09

Sigh bottles. I have a screw top one and a sip cap one, both getting on for 20 years old. You can get isulati.g covers to keep them cooler.

Camelback podium bottles are good too, but plastic.

surroundedbyblondes · 26/07/2013 21:14

DDs both have Sigg bottles which we use several times a week. We are really pleased with them. DD1 has had hers for over four years and it's still in good nick.

stargirl1701 · 26/07/2013 21:16

Sigg.

ChillyChillyIcebat · 26/07/2013 21:18

camelback eddy Come in kids size too, lies on its side in toddlers cot every night never leaked.

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood · 26/07/2013 21:20

the sistema twist ones in 3 different sizes in our house.

Hamwidgeandcheps · 26/07/2013 21:46

Thanks folks the camelbak ones look like a goer Grin

OP posts:
Hamwidgeandcheps · 26/07/2013 21:52

Ooh I really like the camelbak ones I think they are quite reasonable too of they last forever - I've spent more than that in what I've binned for dd already!

OP posts:
BananaPie · 27/07/2013 05:23

How do you wash and dry the straw in the camelbak ones?? I'm looking for some good bottles, but would worry about keeping them clean.

Best one we've ever had is the 'Smash' range got it in Wilko's. Its boring grey with a white sports lid but is so reliable!

GobHoblin · 27/07/2013 17:37

Sorry didn't read properly, smash one we have is plastic...Nothing to see here, move along!

Hamwidgeandcheps · 27/07/2013 20:13

Oh Hilary I want everything on that site! Those are v reasonable too thank you Grin

MumAtVineCottage · 29/07/2013 12:14

I agree that the Sistema ones are really good and they do a stainless steel bottle with the twist and sip lid. I got ours from ASDA, I think it was about £3.50. It also has a clip on it that I attach to the buggy.

mermaidbutmytailfelloff · 29/07/2013 12:16

Poundland metal bottles - I have two and they are brilliant, light, tough and dont leak. I have a pink one and a shiny red one.

Just a pound of course....

Hamwidgeandcheps · 29/07/2013 15:59

Look at all this wisdom just for a bottle - god I love mn Grin thanks folks Grin

NoComet · 29/07/2013 16:04

powerade bottles, the evil blue stuff with the black sports tops are better than many reusable ones.

If you get it on offer it's cheap enough to pour the junk away and just keep the bottles.

(Although my stange DH and DDs will drink it Confused)

PigeonPie · 29/07/2013 16:04

We have stainless bottles from www.onegreenbottle.com/ They're great and the only time they've leaked is when I haven't done them up properly. They're also really easy to wash - can get a washing up brush in them easily.
