washing.machine.& dishwasher problems

My washing machine isn't getting things as clean as it should do, & the clothes feel a little soapy. An extra rinse doesn't help.

The dishwasher also isn't getting things very clean.

Any advice? Off to clean insides & put on hot cycles with vinegar.

My washing machine does that when it needs the filters(?) cleaning.

Is that the little screw out bit on the front at the bottom?

Dr Beckmans washing machine cleaner and Wilkinsons own dishwasher cleaner are what I use, about once a month or as needed. I also clean the dishwasher filter daily.

my filter is at the front of the washing machine too - remove and clean it out. Clean the rubber seal in the door, pull out and clean the soap dispenser and the bit the dispenser fits into as that gets manky too. Do a 90 degree wash with vinegar or soda crystals.

Re: the dishwasher - remove the filter(s) and clean them. Remove rotor arms and clean them too. Do a hot wash with a dishwasher cleaner.

Thanks have done all you said with washing machine, except the draw. The filter & seal weren't too dirty. It's on 90 with vinegar now.

I use bleach spray and an old toothbrush for the roof of the bit the dispenser drawer sits in as it gets black and mouldy after a while
