Does anyone else find oily spots on their clothing after washing?

This happens quite often. I wash a load of clothes and find oily looking round spots or marks on the clothes. I do not use a fabric softener, just non-bio powder and normally wash on a 40 degree cycle and once or twice a week on a 60 degree cycle. Does anyone know what is causing these spots. Clothes come out looking dirtier than I put them in. It is a cheap BEKO washing machine which I cannot replace as I am living in rented accommodation.

have you tried washing with no clothes in the machine or washing powder on its hottest setting? to clean all gunk out of machine - this improved mine. or it might be machine on its way out.....there were some threads on here a few months ago about it.
