... my lovely Miele Cat & Dog, which is 11 years old it has to be said, has stopped sucking with the power it once had - used to practically lift the carpets off the floor on full 1800w strength but now is struggling to lift an opal fruit wrapper. I have changed the bag and doesn't seem to be anything stuck in the pipework that I can see. Any thoughts?

Is there a filter to change/ clean/ replace?
My dyson is much better when I wash out the filters.

I would have said filter as well.

beat me to it - just changed the filters on my vacuum and it is now hard to push because it is working so well!

good deals on filters usually on ebay if they aren't washable.

Ooh - I had this happen to mine last week. I googled the problem and up came the solution in a mumsnet thread from about 7 years ago!

I think I had the problem as I'm using up some generic bags, not dedicated Miele cat and dog, that I had left from my previous Miele. That and the fact my oh always believes that the bag can take just a little more ......
