How often do you.....

Just being nosey really and wondering how often you do the usual cleaning jobs.

Hoovering
Dusting
Toilets
Bathroom
Kitchen counters
Hob
Oven
Kitchen floor
Change bedding
Laundry
Ironing
Pulling out furniture to dust/Hoover
Skirting boards

For me it's:

Hoovering: every other day (should be every day really thanks to a black Labrador moulting all over the cream carpets)
Dusting: once a week
Toilets: daily
Bathroom: once a week
Kitchen counters: after every use
Hob: daily
Oven: once every couple of months
Change bedding: once a week
Laundry: 6-7 loads a week for everything, usually done from Thursday - Sunday
Ironing: once a week (all clothes loads are washed on same day)
Pulling out furniture to dust/Hoover: erm, once every few months
Skirting boards: once a week

Feel free to add others!

Oops, missed kitchen floor (not very good at copy and pasting on iPad) - it's done 2 or 3 times a week (I'm sure you were all dying to know!!)

Hoover once every two weeks - mini hoover/sweep daily
Dust once a week/ as I see it
Toilets - daily
ensuite- every other day main bathroom hardly used
kitchen counters after use
bedding once a week/two (sheets every week)
laundry - twice a week
Iron - once a week
Pull out furniture - every month or two
mop kitchen daily

light switches once a month
Thorough clean of laminate floors - on hands and knees - once a month - It needs it

Rearrange cupboards far too often as I never put stuff back in the right place - also hotpress needs to be tidied far too often for same reason

Window cleaner every two months - do downstairs and inside all in between myself and do mirrors at the same time.

Car - weekly (hoover/spray)

mrspaddy · 23/06/2013 15:27

Also oven clean once a week after Sunday dinner to keep it right and carpet shampoo (vanish) stairs and front mat when I do main hovering every fortnight.

CaptainJamesTKirk · 23/06/2013 16:43

Everything on your list twice weekly except change bedding which is weekly and kitchen worktops and hobs which is daily.

loveliesbleeding1 · 23/06/2013 20:02

Hob 2 times daily, worktops about 5 times a day but my kitchen isnt the biggest in the world, most of the jobs I do daily except ironing , laundry at least one big load aday, laminated floors once or twice a week, dusting with pledge duster every few days, deep clean bathroom 2 times a week, rugs hoovered once a day, but 3 children, 2 cats 1 dog so it would be a nightmare if I didnt do it! Windows inside and out once a week along with mirrors and other glass ie doors , pictures etc

I don't think I should post on this thread just in case anyone knows me and decides never to come to my house ever again.

Optimist1 · 23/06/2013 20:11

Come round to mine, Miranda - you'll feel at home!

FALSEdichotomy · 23/06/2013 20:33

I usually think the opposite... Why can someone not find 15 minutes in their entire week to Hoover? I think it's what you're used to, what you consider important, what you don't. For example I don't watch television much, so instead if sat in front of the tv for an hour of the evening, I'll mop all my floors, clean my bathroom, iron (although I bloody hate ironing), clean the kitchen etc...

For Miranda Smile

Hoovering, dusting, toilets, hob - weekly ish
Kitchen counters - after use
Oven - never Blush
Kitchen floor - once or twice a month for a full mop down, do sweep as it needs it though and wipe up spills
Change bedding - fortnightly
Laundry - nearly every day
Ironing - as and when
Pulling out furniture to dust/Hoover, Skirting boards... hmmm

Jan49 · 26/06/2013 22:55

Why can someone not find 15 minutes in their entire week to Hoover?

To hoover a whole house once a week would not take 15 minutes. I think my 3 bed terraced house takes about 2 hours but I never do it all at once. It's not just a task I do any time due to taking into account back problems, not wanting to hoover early in the day as I wear contact lenses and the dust bothers my eyes for the rest of the day, and not wanting to hoover after the neighbour's toddler goes to bed (noise).

Hoovering once a month
Dusting now and then when I notice somewhere is dusty
Bathroom once a month
Kitchen counters once or twice daily when washing up
Hob once or twice daily when washing up
Oven hmm...
Change bedding once a month
Laundry every other day or so
Ironing 1 or 2 times weekly
Pulling out furniture to dust/Hoover Varies. Some furniture every time I hoover, others never
Skirting boards with vacuum cleaner brush once a month when hoovering

I've got no pets or young children and the house looks clean and mostly doesn't look like it needs doing. I could find time to do more but hate doing it and don't feel it needs doing more.

BriansBrain · 26/06/2013 22:59

Sorry but bedding changed once a month Shock

I'm by no means fussy about my house work but I do love a clean bed.

Everything else is daily or every other due to work and small people.

BackforGood · 26/06/2013 23:03

Miranda and Optomist - you can come to mine, I'd rather have a sit and natter over coffee than do housework on any day of the week Smile

Oh - just read Shoewhore and Jan's posts - you are invited to mine too Smile

Startail · 26/06/2013 23:15

When they are dirty/when we have visitors/almost never/too much clutter in this house to find the skirting boards.

I can't believe the amount of house work people find time to do.

Why! it will be just as dusty again tomorrow.

Jan49 · 26/06/2013 23:42

Backforgood, I'm on my way...Smile
