My house smells. Help!

I've only noticed it in the past few weeks, it smells musty and always smells of old cooked food and sweaty bodies.

Wtf can I do? I always open all the windows when I'm at home but as soon as I shut them and go out, when I come back I can smell it as I walk through the door.

I vacuum regularly so I wouldn't think it's that dirty and we have no pets, but we do have DC.

It might just be because of the weather - a house that's been warm all day due to sunshine coming through windows tends to pong a bit.

Not sure there's much you can do!

Beds changed weekly, cooker clean and no cooker hood? Windows may need cleaned again (did them 6 weeks ago) and our leather sofa desperately needs cleaning- it could be that

It could be a warm house but im in most days with wondows open.

Open all the windows, prop open all the doors in the house so you get a good draft. Hoover everywhere. Give big culprits a wash, eg blanket in the lounge or clean pet bedding. Buy some of the fragrance sticks - Tesco do nice smelling ones. They aren't cheap but last a while.

Then you can wash the duvet and pillows (not just the cases) and the curtains - the nice thing about curtains is you hang them back to up to dry and they don't need ironing.

If it all still smells you need to shampoo your carpets, which is actually pretty easy.

Surprising how many otherwise clean people don't wash clothes often enough, particularly winter-weight coats etc. I'd give curtains a sniff too.

When my house was Smelllingi discovered it was the kitchen sink...

I was just going to say, no one has mentioned the kitchen sink. Ours gets mingling when the children ( and Dh) pour cereal. Down it and do t rinse it properly. Also ,the kitchen bin. Do you change it regularly?
