My rug smells of puke!

My lovely niece puked on my rug yesterday (jar of baby food) I've managed to get the orange tinge out but it still smells of sick! I'd be really grateful if anyone has any tips to get rid!

Bicarb sprinkle liberally or make a paste with a bit of water and rub in. Leave to dry and hoover up.

Thank you Rosa! I don't have pure bicarb but I have baking powder, will that do do you think?

is it small enough for the washer?

SayMama · 21/06/2013 11:51

Unfortunately not Mousy! I'm pretty sure it doesn't smell strongly when you're just standing, but I have chronic back pain and spend a lot of time lying flat on it so it's very strong when I'm right on top of it Grin

No Baking powder won't you need bicarb ....borrow from a neighbour ???

rug doctor is the only way I have ever successfully removed that baby puke smell.

is it a rug that you can take outside on a sunny day and hose down?

sun will dry it out quicker and also help kill the smell. If you can put it on a washing line, so much the better. If not, drape it on a wall or fence.
