How do I clean fabric sofa?

Morning all. We have a two year old sofa and a two year old. It's the colour of dried mud (supposed to be that colour) but has various blobs and stains on it from stupidly and lazily allowing DS to eat whilst sat on it.
I've tried lots of carpet and upholstery cleaner and it doesn't seem to shift it. Sofa just feels acky.
We had it scotch guarded when we bought it, goodness knows what it'd be like if we hadn't!
Besides replacing it with wipe clean leather, any ideas?

Vigorous baby-wiping? my answer to all of life's challenges

Ha ha. I've tried that too Suzy, there are some things even the miracle of baby wipes can't sort out!
