What happens to your downloaded books when your kindle dies?

You can access your Kindle account's content on any device that can run the Kindle app, or on another Kindle. Will see if I can find a link on Amazon that explains it.

Have you tried rebooting it? Press and hold the on/off button for about a minute or until something happens. I thought mine had died a few months ago, but this sorted it.

thanks all. My Kindle is actually o.k but it is something I have wondered about and am glad to find out books can be retrieved.
