How to clean a fabric settee?

Our settee is vile, two babies in the space of 2 years have ruined it! Milky sick stains, sticky fingers, food spillages...boak.

Anyway. It basically needs a good scrub. Is this possible? I am not sure why I can't work out how to clean it, but simply scrubbing with a soapy cloth isn't working - it doesn't seem to do anything but leave another unsightly watermark.

The cushions are easy, the covers go in the washing machine, but what about the back and the arms? Feel like putting it in the garden and hosing the whole bloody thing down!

Skaramoosh, looking forward to seeing what replies you get as I was going to ask the same question this morning:)

I have the same q! I have scrubbed mine with a scrubbing brush and it has improved a bit but not as much as I was hoping. Have been wondering about whether a steamer would do the trick.

A common problem then! Grin
I hope somebody knows the answer!

its professional clean isn't it? I would get someone in tbh give it a really deep clean

Oh really? We're already splashing out to get the oven deep cleaned, not sure we can stretch to the sofa too! I think the next one will have to be leather...

Mine wasn't bad but a bit grubby on the arms - used some car upholstery spay cleaner and it worked a treat. Not sure it would cope with really dirty stuff though. Steam clean on an earlier sofa was also pretty successful. It was about 40 Euros.
