What can I expect a cleaner to do in 2 hours per week

I am hoping that she can......

  1. Hoover flat and do kitchen floor
  2. clean bathroom
  3. change bedding (one bedroom and babies cot)
  4. ironing (a few items a week)

Is this reasonable in two hours? Or too much or too little?

It is a two bedroom flat with two steps and she wants £12 per hour in Surrey.

Thank you in advance. Grin

I don't think that's too much, no.

I don't do ironing, so I don't know how long it takes. But, in two hours I can clean a two or three bedroom house (one bathroom, maybe two baths, tidy-ish). That includes cleaning the kitchen, dusting all around, cleaning a bathroom (maybe two) and hoovering and mopping the entire house.

I'm not sure what "a few items a week" means in terms of ironing, but it sounds like you're talking about maybe 15 minutes of work.

Katy your not near me are you? I'm desperate to find a good cleaner from sept, but the ones I've messaged haven't been that bothered about wht I want. Grrrrr (in notts)

Sorry! I'm up in Greater Manchester, and I don't do ironing.

Be patient, you will find the one you need. The good ones are often pretty well booked, but they're out there.

I don't want ironing. I want a clean house Grin sorry for hijack op.

Even ones recommended I'm struggling with, oh well, keep trying.

Totally doable.

To get your money's worth I'd forget the ironing and get her to do the cooker top as well as the kitchen floor.

I have 2 hours a fortnight. Most times she gives the bathroom a quick clean and cleans the kitchen. The rest depends on how dirty the kitchen was - if it was reasonable and just needed a wipe and a good mop, she usually also hoovers the living room, the stairs and landing and one of the upstairs bedrooms and usually also sweeps and mops the laminate floor in the dining room. If I kept on top of the kitchen better I'm sure she would have time to hoover the whole house.

sounds doable to me
