Old cassette tapes?

Any ideas for where I can donate old albums on cassette? The local charity shops only accept CDs and having had a mad idea that I could crochet with the tape, on research it seems there could be issues with the metals on the tape so I think not. It's not loads, about 30 or so, mostly 80s/early 90s mindless pop that is certainly not collectable. Postage is likely to be very high as they are heavy though.

I hate just dumping things but it might be the only option, I need to clear the space as part of my obsessive nesting/decluttering week!

Thanks!

Could you Freecycle them? I could imagine an art student or crazy music fan would want them. Also I read somewhere that cassettes are becoming more prized again (analogue vs digital music but vastly cheaper than vinyl) so they might be easier to get shot of than you think.

Dump them... Nobody will want them.

Try freecycle facebook or advertise them locally. If they don't shift, then bin them.

Are there any other charity shops? Most seem to accept them.

Here we go cassettes are back!

I've got hundreds from the 80s and 90s. They don't shift on eBay. Quite a few of them don't work after all these years either. But still loath to bin them...

Someone might want them - our camper has a tape player and I'm always on the lookout for some classics!

My car - which isn't that old, still has a tape player!!
But old tapes may not play very well especially if they have just been shoved in a box somewhere!
