Washing machine mold advice for my DM

My DM wants to buy a new washing machine and is concerned about mold. I've told her the MN advice about maintenance washes and using powder rather than liquid. She wants to know if there is a better machine for preventing mold. Are any washing machines better or worse at not getting mold?

If it makes no difference, what will?

Do a boil wash with clear vinegar once a week, and always leave the door open when not in use, and you won't get mould,

LG direct drive washing machine is good, mine never had mould, but I do the above.

use clear vinegar instead of fabric softener and that will also help,

use soda crystals, as stain remover, and your machine will stay fine and unsmelly.

The vinegar doesn't make the clothes smell?

No, the just the opposite it eliminates odour, you don't use much(in the softener part of the drawer), and if you want scent, add a few drops of what ever essential oil you like the smells of.

it saves a lot of money.

Thanks. I will let her know.
