Of course you can, they for through the door don't they?

I've washed cheap canvas shoes fine in the machine. don't have converse so don't know how they come out.

I washed DDs in the machine yesterday! Came out good as new so yes you can!

Chelsea91 · 22/05/2013 16:54

Yes my white ones came out looking brand new

DystopianReality · 22/05/2013 16:55

perfect result in the washing machine

chirpchirp · 22/05/2013 16:59

Yep, take out the laces and wash them separately. Then to clean up the rubber bits mix a tbsp of baking soda, a tbsp of white vinegar and a tbsp of hot water, mix into a paste and use a tooth brush to give them a good scrub. If you can be arsed they will come up as good as new.

mrsyattering · 22/05/2013 18:30

well they are in the machine laces separate in a pillowcase. hopefully will look as sparkly white as they were new Smile Smile

White ones would probably be ok - I put some navy ones in once and they did fade though

heronsfly · 22/05/2013 18:35

I put my dd3s pink ones in the machine, i must admit they did loose a bit of colour, but they look much better than they did before.

Dontbugmemalone · 22/05/2013 18:45

I've bunged them in a pillowcase without taking laces off and they were fine. I left them under the radiator and they dried overnight.

LoveMyBoots · 22/05/2013 18:55

You just be able to - I've got a setting on my washing machine for trainers!

mrsyattering · 22/05/2013 19:29

not as white as I would have liked, I expect the heels are stained from the bottom of jeans. So they're almost as good as new. Thanks for all the tipsSmile

You say they are not as white as you would have liked. Try rubbing a bit of cif on the white bits that aren't as White as you would have liked. Just use the cif as it comes out the bottle and use your finger to rub it on.

ReluctantBeing · 22/05/2013 20:43

You can but it will damage the sole and provide less support.

Catbert4pm · 22/05/2013 20:51

I usually wash them in the machine with a bit of Nikwax waterproofing cleaner on a quick wash; it works really well.

SunshinePanda · 25/05/2013 13:21

Chirpchirp thanks for the Converse cleaning tip about bicarbonate of soda and vinegar. They are now sparkling in the sunshine! Thanks

Trying2bMindful · 25/05/2013 13:29

I popped mine in a laundry bag, laces too. They look lovely! I did brush the mud off first.
