I think it depends on colour / fabric. I'd try a commercial mildew spray like detox - but check for colour fastness first, most of those contain bleach.

We did ours with the dettol mould spray. It's a green bottle. Do a test patch first and make sure you don't spray it on your clothes as it contains bleach.
