Removing coloured pencil from slate

I've just discovered the latest masterpiece, all over the slate hearth. It's in pink coloured pencil, the slate is an unsealed slab. I'm terrified of making it worse by doing the wrong thing! I've only ever cleaned it by dusting/hoovering.

So what can I use on slate, and if you have any suggestions on how to persuade a 4 yo that her 1 yo brother is not to be trusted with pencils I'd be doubly grateful Grin

Have you tried one of those nanofibre Magic Erasers? Lakeland do one, but I've also heard you can get them in pound land.

Thanks. 4 yo tried to clean it up herself, so had to find immediate solution! Which was a damp cloth and elbow grease. Worked a treat, can now see all the scratches from the last few years (sob). Think I'll keep to not cleaning it at all .... I really should get one of the magic erasers though, they do seem to be properly magic.
