My John Lewis classic pans are in and out of the dishwasher all the time and 14 years on look pretty much like new.

I've have thought most pans are fine unless they have wooden handles or similar?

spiderbabymum · 14/05/2013 17:37

I think I've buggered up my le crusets by putting them in

Want new ones that are lighter

Should I just go for plain ole stainless steel ....bear in mind part of the whole cunning plan is that everthing , pot an all will go in dishwasher

I have Ikea 365 stainless steel, 5 years old now and still look like new, also very good value. They're in the dishwasher daily.

Another vote for ikea 365. As they have metal handles they can go from job into oven which is useful.

GlaikitFizzog · 14/05/2013 18:22

I third ikea 365 pots!

spiderbabymum · 14/05/2013 18:23

Great ... Thanks ...another excuse to goto ikea

And I really like if I can start off browning etc then bung in oven

Yup you can. And then if you are me, take out of oven, realise is too runny and whack back on hob with liberal sprinklings of cornflour to thicken up!

spiderbabymum · 14/05/2013 18:42

Cool

I ruined my pans in one. I think you need to keep the temp down.

spiderbabymum · 14/05/2013 18:54

What kinda pans Girl ? Interesting ...because all the heavy duty cycles on dish washer ..with the pic of a pan ...are high temp .

Surely stainless steel is indestructible

They were Raymond blanc hard adonised ones. Although to be fair, I have had them a fair while.
All the outside has kind of worn away and they feel rough. Insides are fine though.
