Window cleaning

I've got to clean the windows as they are pretty filthy and it's been a year or more since I last bothered. I saw a Karcher machine advertised on telly for cleaning the windows as of course it looked so easy, as all adverts like to imply.

How do you clean your windows? I live rurally so paying a professional is out of the question. I've just been using some glass spray and a j-cloth before.

I use hot water and fairy liquid for outside, spray for inside.

I have the worst designed windows in the world - double sash windows (new style not nice old ones). You can't really fit your arm between them - they are a bitch to clean. I'm first floor, busy road & they get filthy.
But I bit the bullet on the weekend and cleaned them (hot water, dishwash & white vinegar) using a magnetic window cleaner which is the only way really.

I feel stupidly pleased with myself and my gorgeous sparkly windows. LONG MAY THEY LAST (they won't of course)
