Butter dish

What type of butter dish is best? Is it the ones with a flat bottom or a dish bottom, if that makes sense!

I've got a dish type but would prefer a flat bottom type.

I have a fat bottom but would prefer a dish.

while I do indeed have a fat bottom, my butter dish has a flat bottom!

Oh and the reason is that when you spread the butter the pat gets wider, especially in warmer weather and with a flat bottom one the butter gets too fat for the lid and it becomes messy.
It has just occured to me that I could turn mine upside down!

I've been looking in charity shops for a good butter dish for years. I found one when I was on holiday 2 years ago (niace French glass one), and promptly broke it!!

It's butter dish weather again & I am using a small shallow bowl with another bowl on top to cover!

I have just broken the lid on my flat bottomed dish and am leaning towards a dish bottom now methinks.

lulu2 I've had the tune to Fat Bottomed Girls in my head since yesterday!
They are hard to find, my Mum has spend ages looking for one but she is most fussy.

BeCool mine is a naice French glass one, it was a present and I'm petrified of breaking it. I have turned it upside down now, it's a revelation!

I love this yoyo ceramics butter dish, although I have the condiment pot and use it as a butter dish as it holds 1/3 of a pack of butter. Dish bottomed though.

Morrison's has a glass-with-cows-on flat bottomed butter dish for £3.

We have this one not from them but years ago in Woolies I think, not expensive. It lives in the bread bin all year round :)

I like a dish bottom, we have this. £5 from Sainsburys but often comes up on offers in stor for £3.

I love my butter dish, prefer the bone china to the more chunky porcelain ones.

Hi Lake I have the JL Queensberry Hunt tea cups and saucers; used them today for an afternoon tea party!

I have a nice plain white with a blue edge type from JL. (I did have a rather lovely La Creuset one but a friend kept coveting it so I gave it her as a gift! Netto was it you?

Dish type for me too, much less messy than my mum's flat one. I have the Lakeland insulated one, it is childproof and dishwasher proof.
