We need a new sofa and quite like one on Made.com but were just wondering what kind of quality they are. Anyone bought anything from them?
We've seem some positive online reviews but you never know how genuine they are do you?

Thanks

Yeah, i was worried that would be the case.

I think i'm just old fashioned really and i'd much rather buy something from a shop!

Hello mrsd don't know if this helps but I believe made have a showroom now in notting hill. Also I bought bookcases from them and the quality was fantastic. I've never seen any of their upholstery though.

Dawndonna · 11/05/2013 16:53

My sister has a lovely chair from them. Six weeks from start to finish. She's very pleased with it, and I like it, too!

MinimalistMommi · 12/05/2013 13:39

Even people comment on here can be fake too OP just as a heads up, sometimes it's worth checking on a posters history if its a big purchase to see if they've posted before. People get payed to search the Internet for threads like these and then out a positive review.

MinimalistMommi · 12/05/2013 13:40

Put not out.

Curioustiger · 12/05/2013 18:07

Minimalist, if I was a fake poster I would have been far more gushing!

i bought a bedside table (£149) from them recently, one of the vintagey, distressed ones, and it was surprisingly good and solid. good comms and fast delivery. not sure i'd buy a sofa or an armchair without trying it in the flesh tho

KatoPotato · 13/05/2013 14:00

We got our sensor bin from there, I think it took quite a while to arrive but its great.

Even though my arse sets it off every time I walk past...

TakingTheStairs · 13/05/2013 14:02

I used them recently and never will again

Ordered a footstool, paid for Saturday delivery, got an email to say it was coming on X day. Stayed in all day. Never turned up.
Had to chase them several time to find out what was going on, they never called back when they promised they would.
They lost my footstool, had to reorder again, so a second period of waiting. Refunded the £10 for Saturday delivery as a goodwill gesture, but then sent the second footstool for delivery on a weekday. My DH had to take time off work to wait for it.
They only got off their backsides to help after I posted on MN to moan.

And after all the hassle, the apology was a £25 voucher (which wouldn't buy you anything) to use off my next purchase from them. eh no thanks.

Avoid if you can.

ItsAllTLAsToMe · 14/05/2013 12:32

TakingTheStairs doesn't work for them then Grin.

Sandie79 · 14/05/2013 12:41

We have a coffee table - I really like it. Our furniture is either Ikea/gumtree or landlord-provided John Lewis and its probably in the middle quality-wise, pretty solid and (I think!) very stylish. We didn't have any problems with delivery, but then we're both able to work from home if we need to. I agree I'd be a bit concerned about buying a sofa without being able to sit on it though.

ecohip · 22/12/2016 17:37

Dont bother. I went in to but a 2 seater sofa for my daughter. Sales member told us to wait till sale as we would get 40% off. Come the sale it was nothing like this discount and we missed other sale opportunities

Really angry as the cocky staff members do not want to honor the agreement. Bad form!

Applesauce29 · 22/12/2016 17:40

My brother got a couple of sofas from there over a year ago and they still look good. He went to see them in the showroom first tho.

TinyTemperamental · 22/12/2016 17:51

2 sofas, coffee table and dining table- all from made.com
The quality is excellent and love their designs.
We live in London so did go to their Notting Hill showroom to check out stuff in real before we ordered d it online.

TinyTemperamental · 22/12/2016 17:53

And why am I replying to a 2013 thread? Just realised. Confused

DavidMok · 16/01/2018 13:27

Do not buy from this company!!

I ordered a Lulu bed online in September, the wrong bed was delivered in November. Customer service promised to deliver the RIGHT bed in 3-4 weeks. I called in December when nothing arrived. They said due to a computer glitch, my re-order wasn't processed, so I have to wait ANOTHER 6-8 weeks! Today, the replacement bed finally arrived, and it's the same wrong size bed they delivered in November!!

Worst e-commerce experience I've ever had. I'll NEVER buy anything from them again. Just disgraceful how they treat a customer who handed them the money 4 months ago, and still have no bed.

ginorwine · 19/01/2018 13:57

We have a side board and chair
I like contemporary design so it suits us - like habitat better but too costly .

Llyra · 22/01/2018 15:16

I know this thread is old, but since it’s been bumped I thought I’d add our experience.

We bought a tv stand from them that was due to arrive in less than a week. We didn’t hear from them so went back to check, and it had been bumped more than a month. We liked it enough to wait, even though it was very annoying. Then eventually we were contacted and told that they had canceled our order altogether and didn’t have the product.

So, months of waiting for nothing. They offered us £25 off our next order, incredibly useless.

Tortycat · 26/01/2018 00:40

Just got a floor lamp and it's really nice. Also have a leather tub chair which is good. Awaiting wardrobe... I've found good customer service too

EnidButton · 26/01/2018 17:59

Bought a bed from them. It looks really nice. But it took weeks of returns and deliveries of various parts to get one that wasn't damaged (some of the fabric dye was patchy).

On the third occasion, the delivery guys had to wait whilst we unpacked each piece to check it, (as instructed by the customer service person), and started to get visibly annoyed that I was checking but, sure enough, one piece had to go back again.

As the people at the warehouse were sending out one panel of a king sized bed, they must have known it was to replace a faulty piece, I still don't understand why it couldn't have been checked before sending. Instead it had to be carted 4 hours across the country and back again, 4 times. Not counting the expected wait for delivery, it took 7 weeks to get the bed. It still has a faded patch of dye on one side but but it's not visible unless you really look.

So no, I would not recommend. I realise this is an old thread but thought I'd add my experience anyway.

EnidButton · 26/01/2018 18:00

I think their customer service is probably fine if you're happy with your order and it goes smoothly but they don't seem to be very good if something goes wrong or a problem needs fixing.

BellaMoo · 27/01/2018 08:28

We’ve got a dining table, bench and chairs as well as a large storage cupboard. Both are really nice, solid and were easy to put together and there were no problems with delivery.
