What should I use to get my iron clean?

My iron has a kind of burnt quality to it. I tried iron cleaner pads and they made no difference. What do I need to use? (Nb I'm 36 weeks pregnant, nesting, everything has to be perfect for when the baby comes!).

Spray with wd40, leave a minute or 2 and then scrub it with a big piece of scrunched up kitchen foil. Takes a bit of scrubbing.

Remember to wipe off the wd40 after obviously!

It's amazing stuff. Can use it for loads of things. Good for sticky labels, crayon marks.
Lovely times getting everything perfect pre baby Smile best wishes

Yes I'm always impressed with it! Thank you. Only a few weeks ago! :)
