Pillows - Anthea Turner did the droopy pillow test, do you?
Duvets - Do they have a lifespan or do you just wash them until they burst?
Mattresses -turning or chucking?
Towels - I seem to have hundreds. Use them for sewing bibs etc but still...

Anything else that should be/you do change regularly or every few years?

(As in throw them and get new ones)

Quality pillows that are washed by hand or in large machines at home or at a laundrette should last 5-10 years. Duvets similiarly. A quality matress that is turned and hoovered regularly, again 10-15 years. Quality towels looked after carefully should last 5-10 years easily. Cheapm nasty, cut price versions of any of them may not last even 2 years...

I seem to have a variety - 3 beds with 2-4 pillows on each. Is the drooping pillow technique a good way of checking? I wash them every 5 months or so but can't remember how old each set are!
With duvets - do you wait for them to burst before replacing?
